Jackie Kleinschmidt, Owner and Organizing Consultant

Everyday Organizing is committed to constant improvement so we can offer you the best possible solution for your needs

So who is Jackie Kleinschmidt anyway?

I’m the founder and owner of Everyday Organizing, LLC, and I've made it my mission to help people take back their time, their space, and their life through my organizing, home inventory, and coaching services.

I’ve been helping people get and stay organized, learn essential skills, and clarify life goals since the early 1990s when I worked for Sallie Mae Servicing Corporation. One of my first jobs during what would be a 10-year career with Sallie Mae involved managing the company's legal library, as well as keeping the working lives of several lawyers organized and running smoothly. You might call this my “trial by fire” initiation to the world of organizing.

In 1994, I made a career leap from legal to training. As a technical writer, trainer and instructional designer, I was in charge of developing, organizing and passing on all the information employees needed to do their jobs.

It was a task that gave me organizing skills I still use with clients today, including the ability to sort through mounds of information, pare it down to essentials, and present the information in a way my clients can understand and remember. Perhaps even more importantly, though, I learned how to listen, how to ask the right questions, and how to assess and meet real needs.

In 2000, I added even more skills to my organizing toolkit when I went to work for Global Learning Systems as a project manager. Besides learning how to work long hours and meet tough deadlines, I also learned how to coordinate project tasks from start to finish, how to manage and motivate employees and contractors, and how to keep communication flowing with the client. It was one of my toughest jobs to date, but one of which I'm especially proud as I got to manage, develop and deliver training for some of the biggest names in the country, including the United States Air Force, GE and Hewlett-Packard.

Today, as an organizing consultant and ADD coach, I indulge my passion for helping people. Every day, I get the opportunity to accompany my clients on what are often amazing journeys. I supported two clients – both of whom struggle with ADD and depression – as together we transformed chaos and clutter into livable, useable space. I guided another client through the difficult task of sorting through boxes left behind in a painful divorce. One of my older clients was so relieved to have me help locate and organize important documents her children would need to settle her estate that she felt, as she said, as though "a great weight had been lifted off her shoulders."

Life is no fun unless you’re growing. To ensure I grow and deliver ever-increasing value to my clients, I continually hone my organizing and coaching skills. I'm a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and participate in NAPO's local Wisconsin Chapter where I head up the newsletter. I take classes with the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization ( NSGCD ) so I can acquire specialized knowledge and tools to help those clients who struggle with chronic organizational challenges or ADD. I am currently pursuing ADD Coach certification through the ADD Coach Academy – the only training program endorsed by the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA). And I am a student of interior design.
