Photographs are better when they're organized

What to Do With Those Duplicates

You've gone through the backlog and weeded out all the duplicates. Now what do you do?

You could just throw the duplicates away. On the other hand, you could also share the memories with those you think might appreciate them.

Share the Memories

Here are some ideas for sharing your photographic memories with friends and family:

  • Mail duplicates to a friend or family member with a short greeting.
  • Send doubles to the people in the photo. They'll be delighted!
  • Have duplicates of your favorite photos imprinted on coffee mugs, t-shirts or some other fun giveaway that you can turn into a personalized gift.
  • Create photo calendars every year as Christmas or New Year's gifts.
  • Keep a supply of pre-addressed envelopes near your current photo box for people you want to sent pictures to. When you come across a picture you want to send, put it in the envelope. Drop the envelopes in the mail every month or so.
  • Frame your best photos and hang them on the wall. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat and humidity.
  • Use a bulletin board to display photos. Rotate them from time to time.

Now Sit Back and Enjoy!

With your photographic memories well organized and under control, you'll be able to enjoy them. Next time your kids have nothing to do, or the evening is cold and dreary, pull out a box and look through them with your family. Keep up with your organizing and you'll be able to enjoy all your memories for years to come.
